CNNC 100 MW Wind Power Project, 73rd Regiment, Fourth Division, Xinjiang
The project is located in the 73rd Regiment of Kokdala City, Fourth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. It is the first wind power project in Kokdala City and the first grid-connected wind power project developed by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) in the northern Xinjiang region of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
The project has a total planned capacity of 100 MW and comprises 20 wind turbine generators and one 110 kV substation. The power generated is transmitted to the 220 kV substation of the 73rd Regiment through a single 110 kV transmission line.

The project site is characterized by complex and rapidly changing weather conditions, making wind turbine lifting operations highly challenging. The project team worked closely together to make the most of favorable low-wind windows and successfully completed the lifting of the first turbine unit with high efficiency.
Construction commenced on June 22, and the project was successfully connected to the grid after just 115 days, demonstrating the remarkable “CNNC Speed.” It was the only new energy project among the market-oriented projects approved by the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Energy Bureau in 2023 to commence construction within three months. The project also marked CNNC’s first breakthrough in wind power development in the northern Xinjiang region of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

The project will help optimize the power grid structure of the Fourth Division, ease nighttime power shortages, and promote the development of a cleaner, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system. It will also contribute to ecological protection and high-quality economic development in the Fourth Division.
